My two weeks at home have flown by! It's been so busy; as I've been trying to fit in seeing as many friends as possible around touring the country to see all my family. Not to mention my quick visit back into my previous secondary school to speak at the sixth form welcoming assembly. It's been so lovely which has made it even harder to leave this time!
As per usual a new chapter means a new blog page which I will set up a leave a link below. My traveling timetable has been so rushed I haven't had time to pause with a coffee and blog yet! But this train service from Toronto to Ottawa is the perfect time. 4 hours to settle down with some free wifi and get my thoughts onto paper. Be it non physical paper.
My new blog! www.zaklovellsummer.blogspot.com
Coming home and sharing stories with friends, family and students has been a really good reflecting exercise. Being self aware of how happy I actually am with what I'm doing, and the impacts it's making on my character is quite exciting.
I din't realise that going to live and work in another country with a bunch of strangers isn't a 'normal' thing to do. What's more, me and my big mouth have been quite successful at this, and not everyone would be.
I only came to the realisation over a cup of tea with my old school teacher. She helped me piece this year together and build up the confidence to go and do it whilst going through my a levels. I think she can relate so to my travels because she did the same at one point and is proud and jealous of what I've done!
Now onto the next chapter. But first, some pictures: (when I have better connection! Stay tuned)
Love to my family xx

Final weekend in Invermere
Fantastic weather, friends and activities. With some stunning photos to prove it. Will update soon. I've a busy day of traveling tomorrow!!
UPDATE**
At the airport now waiting for my flight! I'm trying to make good use of the free wifi to tell you more about my long weekend! Friday consisted of a lot of relaxing by the beach in the sun and popping into Gerrys to fuel my gelato addiction and see my friends. Who knows what I'll do when I get home?! I also said my first goodbyes to friends in the evening as I knew I'd not have too much time after camping and whatnot. It was really nice to catch up, chat and also catch up on my scrap book! And no day is complete without a skate park session with Dom. Brilliantly documented by us all mucking about with my GoPro!
Saturday was camping day. 8am start - early! I barely had time to pack up lunch and get ready before we were off in Joshs' truck. We went for all of Saturday and then Sunday morning. Josh was taking us to his and Machos favourite spot (remember the his newfound dog!) Steamboat lake. It's about an hours drive from Invermere toward radium camping amount the forest by a gorgeous topaz lake, in view of the snowy mountain peaks. We were fishing, paddle boarding, swimming, diving, slack lining and all sorts! Always relaxing in between enjoying the fantastic sunshine. And the cherry on top? The northern lights were out over the weekend! A swirling river of green, fluctuating in the sky.
On Sunday me and Dom went for a hike before leaving. And the rest of Sunday flew by with all the little jobs I had to do to be prepared to vacate my house and leave the country. And more goodbyes. Haven't cried yet though! Yet. I'm so happy I got to enjoy my last weekend this way and have so many lovely photos to cherish.
To my family, I love you as always and see you all soon! Xx

End Of Another Era
Last day working at Gerrys! It's happening! I'm gone in 3 days! Ahh!
Okay calm down.. All is well, just need to start packing sharpish. It was a bitter sweet day, I got lots of lovely visits and farewell hugs from my girls from work which was nice. Even a 4 way slow dance! I loved working there and the people are amazing. They treated me to my final wings night, a mini golf trip and tacos. I'll leave feeling loved haha!
Now I'm (f)unemployed I have plenty of time to sort packing, flight stuff and get outside and Chill. Out. By god I needed it after those 10 consecutive days. My bosses certainly got the most out of me! No hard feelings though, they're great too! They are even plotting ways to make me stay for the summer which at best consisted marriage/babies to tie me down.. at worst the basement!
Last weekend was the real killer. Our 'first taste of summer' it was coined. In other words, Calgary arrived - red number plates pulled up in town to enjoy their second homes. They were out in force as the weather was stunning - another taste of summer! We had a line out the door for 6 hours straight. It was insane! I was dead on my feet by the time I got home I didn't even get to enjoy a rare bustling bar in Invermere! I'm not too fussed though, I like having the little town to myself. Especially the skate park, which me a Dom like to frequent on a bright evening. https://quik.gopro.com/v/U6xvJRT4Hd/
Earlier today, stop me getting too bummed out at work, I kept myself busy by restocking the cookie cabinet. Calgary made a fair dent in our reserves so I casually banged out 81+ cookies! I made ALL the cookies. All the flavours. No messing around. So if anyone is reading this a happens to get a cookie from Gerrys Gelati Invermere, I hope you enjoy my fine work. The salt content may be slightly higher thanks to my tears!
Until next time!
